About the show
As You Like It plays at Shakespeare's Globe in summer 2026, a bold new staging of Shakespeare's Forest of Arden comedy co-directed by Sean Holmes and Charlie Josephine.
Rosalind, mistaken identities and the open air of the Forest of Arden come to the South Bank as As You Like It plays at Shakespeare's Globe in summer 2026. This bold staging is co-directed by Sean Holmes and Charlie Josephine, and it leans into the comedy's wit, music and romance under the Globe's open roof.
What is As You Like It about?
Banished from her uncle's court, Rosalind escapes to the Forest of Arden disguised as a young man called Ganymede. There she crosses paths with Orlando, who is in exile too and head over heels in love with her. Using her disguise, she coaxes him into practising his wooing on Ganymede, and a tangle of crossed wires, shepherds and lovers unfolds among the trees. It is Shakespeare at his most generous and playful, home to the famous "All the world's a stage" speech and a heroine who runs rings around everyone she meets.
Who stars in As You Like It?
Lola Shalam plays Rosalind, with Charlie Josephine as Orlando. Josephine also co-directs the production alongside Sean Holmes, with designs by Paul Wills. Casting is confirmed ahead of the run and can change, so use the calendar on this page to see live availability for your date.
