The Greatest Showman now has its West End dates. Disney Theatrical Group's stage adaptation of the 2017 film begins previews at Theatre Royal Drury Lane on 14 April 2027, with opening night on 5 May 2027, and the initial booking period runs to 2 October 2027.

Priority booking opens on 3 November, and public booking opens on 18 November at 12pm GMT. The priority access booking list has now closed.

Who is in the cast?

Oliver Tompsett plays P.T. Barnum, with Samantha Barks as Charity Barnum, Ben Joyce as Phillip Carlyle, Vajèn van den Bosch as Jenny Lind and Malinda Parris as Lettie Lutz. Further casting is yet to be announced.

From 10 May 2027, Tompsett will not play Monday performances, and van den Bosch will not play on alternating Mondays.

Who is behind the new musical?

The songs are by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the book is by Tim Federle, and Casey Nicholaw directs and choreographs. Numbers include "The Greatest Show", "A Million Dreams", "Rewrite the Stars", "Never Enough" and the Golden Globe winning "This Is Me", together with new songs written for the stage.

The musical is based on the 20th Century Studios film, with a story by Jenny Bicks, and no 20th Century Studios title had been adapted for the stage by Disney Theatrical Group before it. The Seelig Group, which helped make the original film, is also behind the musical.

Alex Lacamoire is in charge of music supervision, arrangements and orchestrations, with scenic design by David Korins, costumes by Gregg Barnes and Sky Switser, lighting by Natasha Katz, sound by Peter Hylenski and video by George Reeve. Lorenzo Pisoni leads circus creation and design, and Skylar Fox designs the illusions and magic.

When are the previews and performances?

Previews run from 14 April to 4 May 2027, mostly at 7pm, with a single 2pm matinee on Monday 3 May. Opening night is Wednesday 5 May. From 6 May the show plays Monday to Saturday at 7pm, with Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2pm.

The show is recommended for ages 6 and over, and children under 4 will not be admitted. London follows the musical's earlier run at the Bristol Hippodrome this year.
