De officiële website van Shit-faced Shakespeare, het 'onheilige kind' van Magnificent Bastard Productions, omschrijft hun show als "de uiterst intellectuele versmelting van een serieus toneelstuk van Shakespeare met een ladderzat castlid." Toch roept dit concept vaak de nodige scepsis op. Is er echt iemand dronken op het podium? Is dat niet gevaarlijk? En is een dronken acteur niet vreselijk irritant? De realiteit is dat het écht is, dat alle veiligheidsmaatregelen zijn getroffen en dat het bovenal simpelweg fantastisch entertainment is.
