Lee Mead as Joseph in the recent West End revival

Following the success of the movie musical Les Miserables, Andrew Lloyd Webber has confirmed that plans are afoot for a screen adaptation of his musical Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

In an interview on the BBC’s One Show, Lloyd Webber confirmed that production had already begun. Lloyd Webber was also quick to mention that with the success of Les Miserables, a film version of Cats was “now, for the first time, a real possibility”.

Lloyd Webber musicals have already been adapted for the big screen. His musicals Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita and The Phantom Of The Opera have enjoyed success with others including Sunset Boulevard awaiting a screen adaptation.
