It has been announced that Rafe Spall will join the cast of Ivo Van Hove's production of Ibsen's Hedda Gabler at the National Theatre in December 2016.

Spall joins Ruth Wilson in the title role. The cast also includes Chukwudi Iwuji, currently playing Hamlet for the Public Theater in New York, Kate Duchêne, Éva Magyar, Sinéad Matthews and Kyle Soller, who is currently appearing as Francis in the BBC’s Poldark.This new version of Hedda Gabbler is by Patrick Marber.

Hedda Gabler will mark Van Hoves National Theatre debut. The production will have set and lighting design by Jan Versweyveld, costume design by An D’Huys and sound by Tom Gibbons.

Heda Gabler will preview at the Lyttelton Theatre from 5 December 2016 and will continue in repertoire will additional performances to be announced.
