Os Tony Awards chegaram ao fim por mais um ano e os grandes vencedores foram Harry Potter and The Cursed Child e The Band's Visit.
The Band's Visit, um musical sobre músicos egípcios encalhados numa pequena cidade israelita, arrecadou 10 prémios, incluindo o de Melhor Novo Musical.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child continua a ser um fenómeno internacional, conquistando seis Tony Awards, incluindo Melhor Nova Peça e Melhor Encenação de uma Peça.
Andrew Garfield e Nathan Lane receberam ambos Tony Awards pelas suas interpretações na produção de Angels in America do National Theatre.
Glenda Jackson, de 82 anos, coroou um regresso triunfal à Broadway após 30 anos com a vitória do Tony de Melhor Atriz numa Peça.
Robert De Niro parou a sala quando soltou a palavra com F duas vezes, numa tirada contra o Presidente Trump, ao apresentar Bruce Springsteen.
