E così arriviamo al culmine della sezione di opera contemporanea del Grimeborn Festival, un doppio spettacolo formato da 'The Medium' di Peter Maxwell Davies e 'The Wanton Sublime', una nuova opera di Tarik O'Regan, su libretto di Anna Rabinowitz. Robert Shaw ha diretto entrambe le opere e l'Orpheus Sinfonia, diretta da Andrew Griffiths, ha accompagnato la seconda metà.
