Dotarliśmy do kulminacyjnego punktu programu opery współczesnej w ramach festiwalu Grimeborn. Był nim wieczór z dwiema jednoaktówkami: „The Medium” Petera Maxwella Daviesa oraz nowym dziełem Tarika O’Regana „The Wanton Sublime” do libretta Anny Rabinowitz. Obie opery wyreżyserował Robert Shaw, a w drugiej części solistom towarzyszyła orkiestra Orpheus Sinfonia pod batutą Andrew Griffiths’a. Komplet publiczności zasiadł na widowni w oczekiwaniu na kunszt muzyczny najwyższej próby – i oczekiwania te zostały w dużej mierze spełnione. Najświeższe wieści z brytyjskich scen od 1999 roku.
