A live recording of the 25th anniversary concert of The Last Five Years, starring Rachel Zegler and Ben Platt, will be released on 20 April via Atlantic Records. The album was captured during performances at the London Palladium from 24 to 29 March.

The news was announced from the stage at the Hollywood Bowl during the concert's North American leg, where Platt and Zegler were performing. The recording marks the first major live album of Jason Robert Brown's beloved two-hander, which traces a five-year relationship between two New Yorkers told in opposite chronological directions.

A Landmark Pairing

Zegler, best known for her film work, and Platt, who returns to his musical theatre roots ahead of his upcoming run at the Menier Chocolate Factory in Midnight at the Never Get, have been widely praised for their chemistry in the roles. Brown himself directed and conducted the London Palladium performances, with Leo Munby serving as musical director and Emma Butler as associate director.

Final Performances

The concert's two final performances at Radio City Music Hall in New York on 6 and 7 April have already sold out, underlining the strength of demand for this particular pairing. The London run was presented by Lambert Jackson with LW Tickets.

Pre-orders for the 14-track album are available now. For those who missed the live performances, the recording promises to capture the intimacy and emotional range that have made The Last Five Years one of the most enduringly popular chamber musicals in the repertoire.
