Pride and Prejudice (Sort of) è la rilettura unica e audace di Isobel McArthur del classico romanzo d’amore di Jane Austen, acclamata dalla critica quando è andata in scena al Tron Theatre di Glasgow.  In questo adattamento irriverente ma affettuoso ci si contende uomini, soldi e microfoni, con l’aggiunta di grandi classici pop come Every Day I Write the Book, Young Hearts Run Free, Will You Love Me Tomorrow, I Got You Babe e You’re So Vain.  Cinque attrici interpretano le giovani domestiche che riscrivono una delle storie più celebri della letteratura, e le stesse cinque attrici vestono anche tutti gli altri ruoli, oltre a cantare e suonare strumenti. Foto: Tony McGee David Pugh ha dichiarato al momento dell’annuncio dello spettacolo: “Desideravo tantissimo portare Pride & Prejudice* (*sort of) nel luccicante West End di Londra.  Volevo metterlo nel teatro perfetto, ovvero il Criterion Theatre, e lo avrei inaugurato solo come uno dei primi NUOVI spettacoli a Londra in cui ogni posto potesse essere occupato.”  È convinto che, “se vogliamo riportare il pubblico a teatro, è fondamentale che si senta al sicuro ma, altrettanto importante, che i biglietti siano accessibili.
