Olivier Awards 2018 - Alle Winnaars

Gisteravond vond de uitreiking van de Olivier Awards 2018 plaats in de Royal Albert Hall, waarbij Hamilton en The Ferryman de grote winnaars van de avond bleken.

De musical Hamilton van Lin-Manuel Miranda was de absolute koploper tijdens de Olivier Awards van gisteravond. De productie won niet alleen de felbegeerde prijs voor Beste Nieuwe Musical, maar sleepte ook prijzen in de wacht voor Beste Acteur in een Musical (Giles Terera), Beste Mannelijke Bijrol in een Musical (Michael Jibson), Beste Lichtontwerp, Beste Geluidsontwerp, Beste Choreografie en de prijs voor een Uitzonderlijke Prestatie op het gebied van Muziek.

The Ferryman, het toneelstuk van Jez Butterworth, won de prijs voor Beste Nieuwe Toneelstuk, Beste Regisseur voor Sam Mendes en de prijs voor Beste Actrice in een Toneelstuk (Laura Donnelly).

Bryan Cranston werd uitgeroepen tot Beste Acteur in een Toneelstuk voor zijn rol in Network bij het National Theatre. Bertie Carvel won Beste Mannelijke Bijrol in een Toneelstuk voor Ink van James Graham, dat momenteel in het Gielgud Theatre staat voordat het naar Broadway verhuist. Labour Of Love, eveneens van James Graham, mocht de award voor Beste Nieuwe Komedie in ontvangst nemen.

Naast de winst van Bryan Cranston sleepten de producties van het National Theatre in totaal vijf prijzen in de wacht, waaronder Beste Vrouwelijke Bijrol (Denise Gough), Beste Kostuumontwerp (Follies - Vicki Mortimer), Beste Musical-revival (Follies) en Beste Toneelstuk-revival (Angels in America).

Sheila Atim en Shirley Henderson wonnen beiden prijzen voor hun acteerprestaties in The Girl From The North Country. De musical, die in première ging in de Old Vic, is momenteel te zien in het Noel Coward Theatre.
