Rehearsal Images Released for 50 First Dates: The Musical

Production has officially begun for the world premiere of 50 First Dates: The Musical, as new rehearsal images have been released ahead of its limited West End run. The show opens at The Other Palace on 14 September and runs through to 16 November 2025.

Based on the beloved 2004 Columbia Pictures film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, the musical stars Georgina Castle (Mean Girls, Cinderella) as Lucy Whitmore and Josh St. Clair (Ghost the Musical, Frozen) as Henry Roth, the charming marine vet who must win Lucy’s heart every day after she loses her memory each night.

A New Musical With Heart and Humour

50 First Dates: The Musical features an original book, music, and lyrics by acclaimed writing duo David Rossmer and Steve Rosen, known for The Other Josh Cohen. The production is directed and choreographed by two-time Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw, whose credits include The Book of Mormon, Aladdin, and Mean Girls.

The creative team also includes:

  • Fly Davis (Set & Costume Design)

  • Aideen Malone (Lighting Design)

  • George Reeve (Projection Design)

  • Adam Fisher (Sound Design)

  • Cynthia De La Rosa (Wig, Hair & Make-up Design)

  • Matthew Jackson (Orchestrations & Arrangements)

  • Richard Beadle (Musical Supervisor & Director)

Casting is by Natalie Gallacher CDG for Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher Casting.

A Star-Studded Ensemble

Joining Castle and St. Clair is a vibrant ensemble including:

  • Ricky Rojas (Moulin Rouge!) as Marco

  • John Marquez (Opening Night, Doc Martin) as Marlin Whitmore

  • Natasha O’Brien (Mamma Mia) as Delilah

  • Aiesha Naomi Pease (Wicked) as Ukulele Sue

  • David Pendlebury (Phantom of the Opera) as Sid

  • Charlie Toland (Sin the Musical) as Doug Whitmore

  • Georgia Arron, Aizaac Aruna, Zoë Ann Bown, Emily Olive Boyd, Cole Dunn, Greg Stylianou Burns, Martha Pothen, and others across swing and ensemble roles.

A Classic Love Story Reimagined for the Stage

Staying true to the heart of the original film, the musical tells the story of commitment-averse Henry who falls for Lucy, an art teacher with short-term memory loss. With every new day resetting Lucy’s memory, Henry must find creative ways to win her over again and again.

Promising big laughs and bigger heart, the stage version brings the unforgettable rom-com to life with catchy new songs and theatrical flair.
