New Adaptation of Christie’s Murder Mystery Sets Sail from September 2025

Glynis Barber and Bob Barrett have been announced to join Mark Hadfield in the UK and Ireland tour of Agatha Christie's timeless thriller Death on the Nile. The tour opens at The Lowry, Salford on 26 September 2025, with a national press night on 9 October at Richmond Theatre.

This major new production reunites playwright Ken Ludwig, director Lucy Bailey, and producers Fiery Angel, the team behind the critically acclaimed tours of Murder on the Orient Express and And Then There Were None. The tour will run through 23 May 2026, visiting more than 20 cities.

A Murder Mystery Set on the Nile

On board a luxurious cruise down the Nile, a couple’s dream honeymoon is shattered by a brutal murder. As the sun beats down and the secrets of the past rise to the surface, Hercule Poirot must unravel a tangled web of lies to uncover the killer before another victim falls.

Mark Hadfield will lead the cast as the iconic Belgian detective Poirot, joined by Glynis Barber as the flamboyant Salome Otterbourne and Bob Barrett as Colonel Race.

About the Cast

Glynis Barber is known for her iconic role in Dempsey and Makepeace, with recent TV credits including Hollyoaks, EastEnders, and The Outpost. Her stage credits include Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, The Best Man, and The Graduate.

Bob Barrett is best known for playing Sacha Levy in Holby City. His theatre credits include Murder on the Orient Express and And Then There Were None, also directed by Lucy Bailey.

Barber said:

“I couldn't be more excited to be returning to the stage and working with the brilliant team at Fiery Angel and Lucy Bailey. This iconic play keeps audiences on the edge of their seat.”
