Live Theatrical Adaptation of Suzanne Collins’s Bestseller Launches in London

Rising star Mia Carragher has been announced to play Katniss Everdeen in the global stage premiere of The Hunger Games: On Stage, adapted from Suzanne Collins’s best-selling dystopian novel and Lionsgate’s hit film series. Performances begin at the brand-new Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre from 20 October 2025.

A Bold New Interpretation of a Modern Classic
The Hunger Games: On Stage brings to life the story of Katniss Everdeen, a teenage girl who volunteers to take her sister’s place in a deadly televised contest where 24 tributes must fight to the death for the entertainment of a dystopian Capitol. The stage version is set to capture the emotional intensity, political undercurrents, and thrilling action that have made the series a global phenomenon.
Mia Carragher, who trained at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts and The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, has appeared in One Night in Istanbul, The Gathering (Channel 4), and upcoming productions including Maigretand Let’s Love.
“I am so excited and honoured to be playing Katniss,” Carragher said. “This is a dream come true role. From being a huge fan of the films, I feel so lucky to be part of the Hunger Games world.”
Director Matthew Dunster added:
“Only one actor combined Katniss’s charisma and combat skills… her brilliant creativity, athleticism, and humour. We’ve found our Katniss in Mia Carragher.”
