Oversikt over avlyste juleforestillinger og oppsigelser i teatermiljøet

Vi har sett så mange meldinger om avlyste julespill (pantos) og oppsigelser i teaterbransjen at vi har bestemt oss for å sette sammen en daglig oppdatert oversikt over konsekvensene for sektoren.

Teaterbransjen står midt oppe i en av de største truslene mot sin eksistens noensinne, utløst av COVID-19-pandemien som truer med masseavlysninger av pantomimer og oppsigelser ved teatrene.

Teatre over hele landet befinner seg i omfattende nedbemanningsprosesser etter at regjeringen drøyde lenge med å kunngjøre finansiering av kultursektoren. Disse oppsigelsene øker nå i omfang etter forsinkelser i regjeringens veiledning, noe som betyr at pantomimesesongen 2020-21 på landsbasis etter alt å dømme blir helt avlyst.

Siden pantomimesesongen genererer overskudd som teatrene bruker til å dekke driftskostnadene for det påfølgende året, vil ringvirkningene for både tilknyttede selskaper som leverer til teatrene og produksjonsselskapene, trolig være katastrofale.

Per nå har mer enn 3000 frilansere i teaterbransjen falt mellom alle stoler; de har hverken fått permitteringslønn, stønader eller særlig støtte på over fire måneder. Dette er en uholdbar situasjon.
