Tony Awards 2017 - Les Nommés

C'est cette période de l'année à nouveau lorsque les nominations pour les Tony Awards 2017 ont été annoncées aujourd'hui (3 mai 2017).

En tête de liste se trouve Natasha, Pierre et la Grande Comète de 1812, un opéra pop basé sur un petit extrait de Guerre et Paix de Tolstoï, mettant en vedette Josh Groban. Recevant dix nominations, Hello Dolly! du légendaire compositeur de Broadway Jerry Herman est de retour avec Bette Midler et David Hyde Pierce. Suite à sa victoire aux Olivier Awards 2017, Groundhog Day est à nouveau nominé pour le Meilleur Musical aux côtés de The Great Comet, Dear Evan Hansen, et Come From Away. Les débuts à Broadway abondent dans la catégorie Meilleure Pièce avec quatre écrivains américains faisant leur première apparition sur Broadway, y compris A Doll's House - Part 2 de Lucas Hnath, Sweat de Lynn Nottage, Oslo de J T Rogers, et Indecent de Paula Vogel.

Les Tony Awards de cette année se tiendront au Radio City Music Hall le dimanche 11 juin 2017 à 20h (EST) et seront animés par Kevin Spacey.
