Nominations pour les Tony Awards 2019 annoncées

Les nominations pour les Tony Awards 2019 ont été annoncées aujourd'hui avec Hadestown récoltant le plus de nominations. Le transfert à Broadway de The Ferryman de Jez Butterworth a reçu neuf nominations.

Hadestown a dominé la liste des nominations pour les Tony Awards 2019 avec 14 nominations, suivi de Ain't Too Proud, la comédie musicale jukebox sur les Temptations, qui arrive en deuxième position avec 12 nominations. À leur suite, Tootsie avec 11 nominations, l'importation britannique The Ferryman avec 9 nominations, et Beetlejuice avec 8 nominations. Les nominations de cette année seront davantage mémorables pour leurs omissions que pour leurs inclusions. Tant Glenda Jackson que Nathan Lane ont été négligés pour King Lear et Gary: A Sequel To Titus Andronicus respectivement dans les catégories des acteurs principaux. Ont également été omis To Kill A Mockingbird et Network qui étaient tous deux attendus dans la catégorie de la meilleure pièce.

Les nominations ont été annoncées ce matin par Brandon Victor Dixon et Bebe Neuwirth.

Cette 73e cérémonie des Tony Awards sera animée par James Corden au Radio City Music Hall le 9 juin 2019.
