ブライトン・フリンジが2017年の受賞者を発表

ブライトン・リトル・シアターによる『Urinetown（ユリンタウン）』

今年のブライトン・フリンジで注目を集めた作品とパフォーマーが、フェスティバル恒例の年間アワードで発表されました。

全24部門の受賞作には、ブライトン・リトル・シアター・カンパニーによるミュージカル『Urinetown（ユリンタウン）』（写真）、Ditto Theatre Companyの『Ingo’s War』、Broken Silence Theatreによるポール・マコーリー作『Bug Camp』、そしてWindmill Young Actorsによるスティーヴン・バーコフ作『Agamemnon（アガメムノン）』などが名を連ねました。

Mumblecrust Theatreによる子ども向け作品『The Tale of the Cockatrice（コカトリスの物語）』は2冠を達成。Voiceの「ブライトン・フリンジ最優秀新人賞」と、International Youth Arts Festival（IYAF）の「ブライトン・フリンジ：最優秀子ども・ファミリー・ショー」を受賞しました。

そのほかの受賞作には『Cinebra: A History of Horror（シネブラ：ホラーの歴史）』も。Pebble Trust International Touring Awardの一環として、海外のフリンジ・フェスティバルへツアーするための£2,500を獲得しています。

Teatro Pomodoroも海外ツアーの機会を獲得。同カンパニーは、優れた新作を紹介する「Brighton Fringe Window」プログラムの一環として選出され、来年は“Nordic network（北欧ネットワーク）”に属するベルゲン、ヨーテボリ、レイキャビク、ストックホルムのうち2つのフリンジにツアーすることが決まりました。
