Olivier Award-Winner Liz Carr Leads Revamped Cast in Musical Comedy Revival

Following its acclaimed 2022 premiere at Soho Theatre, Iman Qureshi’s hit musical comedy The Ministry of Lesbian Affairs returns to the London stage this summer at Kiln Theatre, running from 13 June to 12 July 2025, with press night on Friday 20 June.

The revival, directed by Hannah Hauer-King, features an exciting new cast led by Olivier Award-winner Liz Carr (The Normal Heart, Silent Witness) as Fi, alongside Fanta Barrie reprising her role as Ellie. Joining them are Leah Harvey (Foundation, Small Island) as Lori, Georgie Henley (The Chronicles of Narnia) as Ana, Zak Ghazi-Torbati as The Men, Mariah Louca as Bridget, Serena Manteghi as Dina, and Shuna Snow as Connie .

A Celebration of Identity, Community and Harmony

The Ministry of Lesbian Affairs follows the UK’s only lesbian choir as they navigate life, love, and the chaotic journey to perform on the Pride mainstage. Rehearsing in a crumbling church hall under the guidance of an OWL (Older, Wiser Lesbian), the choir of misfits wrestle with song choices, internal politics and shared dreams.

Playwright Iman Qureshi described the cast as “an absolute tour de force” and expressed joy at the show’s revival in the current political and cultural climate. Director Hannah Hauer-King added, “It really is a dream cast,” praising the blend of returning and new performers bringing fresh energy to the story .

The production combines sharp comedy and heartfelt drama to explore themes of identity, marginalisation, and solidarity with warmth and wit.
