Ceny Drama Desk 2020 – kompletní přehled vítězů

Hry The Inheritance, A Strange Loop a Moulin Rouge patří mezi nejúspěšnější tituly 65. ročníku udílení cen Drama Desk Awards, které proběhlo o víkendu virtuálně.

V neděli 13. června se uskutečnil 65. ročník udílení cen Drama Desk Awards. Virtuální ceremoniál ocenil to nejlepší z Broadwaye, Off-Broadwaye a nejmenších scén Off-off-Broadwaye v rámci zkrácené sezóny 2019–20.

Jedním z hlavních vítězů letošního roku se stal Pulitzerovou cenou ověnčený muzikál A Strange Loop od Michaela R. Jacksona, který si odnesl pět cen, včetně kategorií Nejlepší muzikál, Nejlepší libreto a Nejlepší texty písní. Larry Owens získal cenu pro nejlepšího herce v hlavní roli v muzikálu a Stephen Brackett byl oceněn jako nejlepší režisér muzikálu.

Pět sošek získal také muzikál Moulin Rouge! a hra Matthew Lopeze Dědictví (The Inheritance), která byla vyhlášena nejlepší hrou roku.

V kategoriích nejlepší revival uspěly tituly Little Shop Of Horrors (muzikál) a A Soldier's Play (činohra).

Adrienne Warren zvítězila v kategorii nejlepší herečka v hlavní roli za výkon v muzikálu Tina!, tedy v roli, kterou původně vytvořila při premiéře na londýnském West Endu.  Laura Linney si odnesla cenu za nejlepší sólový výkon ve hře Jmenuji se Lucy Bartonová, kterou diváci v Británii mohli vidět v Bridge Theatre v Londýně.
