Drama Desk Awards 2020 – her er vinderne

The Inheritance, A Strange Loop og Moulin Rouge er blandt de store vindere ved de 65. årlige Drama Desk Awards, der blev afholdt virtuelt i weekenden.

De 65. årlige Drama Desk Awards løb af stablen virtuelt den 13. juni for at hædre det bedste fra Broadway, Off-Broadway og Off-off-Broadway i en forkortet 2019-20 sæson.

En af årets store vindere var den Pulitzer-prisvindende musical A Strange Loop af Michael R. Jackson, som tog fem priser med hjem, herunder Bedste Musical, Bedste Manuskript og Bedste Sangtekster. Prisen for Bedste Mandlige Hovedrolle i en Musical gik til stjernen Larry Owens, og Bedste Instruktør af en Musical gik til Strange Loops Stephen Brackett.

Der var også fem priser til hver af henholdsvis Moulin Rouge! The Musical og Matthew Lopez' skuespil The Inheritance, som vandt for Bedste Skuespil.

Little Shop Of Horrors og A Soldier's Play vandt for henholdsvis Bedste Genopsætning af en Musical og et Skuespil.

Adrienne Warren vandt for Bedste Kvindelige Hovedrolle i en Musical for Tina! The Musical – en rolle hun skabte, da forestillingen havde premiere i Londons West End.  Laura Linney vandt for Bedste Solo-præstation for sit arbejde i My Name Is Lucy Barton, som hun også opførte på Bridge Theatre i London.
