Curious Incident et Hamilton grands gagnants des Drama Desk Awards

Photo : Joan Marcus La production du National Theatre de The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time a remporté six Drama Desk Awards, dont Meilleure Pièce, Meilleur Acteur et Meilleur Réalisateur pour une Pièce, seulement devancé par Hamilton, le nouveau musical de Lin-Manuel Miranda qui a remporté sept prix, la première fois depuis 1983 qu'un spectacle Off-Broadway (Little Shop Of Horrors) dépasse ses homologues de Broadway. Helen Mirren a remporté le prix de la Meilleure Actrice dans une Pièce pour sa performance dans The Audience. Le spectacle en solo de Jim Dale Just Jim Dale actuellement à l'affiche à Londres a remporté Meilleur Revue.

Les Drama Desk Awards, remis chaque année dans plusieurs catégories, sont les seules récompenses théâtrales majeures de New York pour lesquelles les productions de Broadway, Off-Broadway et Off-Off Broadway concourent dans la même catégorie. Formée en 1949 par un groupe de critiques, éditeurs, reporters et éditeurs de théâtre de New York, l'organisation a été créée pour éduquer la communauté sur les problèmes vitaux concernant le théâtre.
