La produzione del National Theatre di The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time si è aggiudicata sei Drama Desk Awards, tra cui Outstanding Play, Outstanding Actor In A Play e Outstanding Director Of A Play, superata soltanto da Hamilton, il nuovo musical di Lin-Manuel Miranda che ha vinto sette premi: è la prima volta dal 1983 che uno spettacolo Off-Broadway (Little Shop Of Horrors) batte le produzioni di Broadway. Helen Mirren ha vinto l’Outstanding Actress In A Play per la sua interpretazione in The Audience. Il one-man show di Jim Dale Just Jim Dale, attualmente in scena a Londra, ha vinto il premio per la Miglior Revue.
I Drama Desk Awards, assegnati ogni anno in diverse categorie, sono gli unici grandi riconoscimenti teatrali di New York in cui le produzioni di Broadway, Off-Broadway e Off-Off Broadway competono tra loro nella stessa categoria.
